Does Invisalign treatment make your teeth sensitive? Thankfully, no. We’re breaking down what to expect during your orthodontic treatment at CaliSmile Orthodontics.
What to Expect During Invisalign Treatment
Just like traditional orthodontic treatment, Invisalign is designed to shift misaligned teeth into a correct position. This is done through the use of specially-designed aligner trays; each set of trays focuses on moving a specific portion of teeth, and the patient receives a new set of trays every 1-2 weeks.
When you undergo Invisalign in our Encino or West Hills orthodontic office, you can expect to feel some slight discomfort as your teeth shift, but you can rest assured that your Invisalign trays will not make your teeth sensitive.
It’s quite common to experience some soreness in the mouth for the first few days after receiving a new set of trays. To help with the soreness, we recommend:
- Wearing your trays as much as possible
- Drinking cool water
- Eating soft foods
- Take over-the-counter pain relief medication
While some discomfort and soreness is normal for the first few days, we always want to make sure that you are as comfortable as possible during your treatment. If you are experiencing a considerable amount of pain that persists, don’t hesitate to give us a call at 310-710-6527.
